1043 – How do I use Windows 7 multi-touch features?

Windows multi-touch is available to users of the ActivBoard 500 Pro, ActivBoard Touch and ActivPanel. Windows 7 Home Premium or above is required, as Windows 7 Home Basic does not support multi-touch.

Using Windows 7 with the ActivBoard 500 Pro

  • Pen and Touch are recognised as separate events.
  • Unlimited multi-touch (2 or more) within the Windows operating system and other multi-touch programmes such as Microsoft Paint.
  • Promethean currently provides up to 4 touches on the ActivBoard 500 Pro with ActivInspire.
  • Pen events will ‘take over’ touch events.
  • Mac users will need to run Windows 7 through Boot Camp (Parallels is not supported).

Windows 7 Touch Settings

Return to the Windows Control Panel and click Hardware and Sound. Select Pen and Touch and ensure your settings are as follows.

Microsoft Touch Pack for Windows

You may wish to download Microsoft Touch Pack that contains applications and games, which fully utilise your ActivBoard or ActivPanel’s multi-touch capabilities.

Make sure the ActivBoard or ActivPanel is connected to your computer before installing Microsoft Touch Pack.
