1110 – How do I adjust the focus of my EST-P1 projector?

The focus can be adjusted using the focus wheels inside the black plastic lid. Open the lid by sliding it towards the rear of the projector. Once open you will see two focus wheels. The wheel to the top of the image is the rear ring and the other is the front ring.

The focus procedure depends on the size of the ActivBoard. Follow the steps below to ensure that the focus is adjusted correctly. When alignment lines are clearly marked on the focus rings, the following presets are available.

87” ActivBoards

Align the three white lines.

Align the three orange lines.

If the alignment lines are not clearly visible or if you are using another size of ActivBoard, please follow the steps below to focus the image:

  1. Attach the projector to the boom arm.
  2. Facing the ActivBoard, turn the front ring all the way to the left (in the opposite direction to the Promethean logo).
  3. Adjust the rear ring to focus the image.
  4. If the whole image is not in focus, turn the front ring a little to the right.
  5. Adjust the rear ring to focus the image.
  6. Repeat steps 4 and 5 until the image is in focus.
